On December 11, 2025, we posted a student letter addressed to Principal Robert Gazzale requesting that New College continue offering 10 BPMH courses in the Fall/Winter 2026-27 term and reopen program enrollment into the minor, which has been closed since January 2024. This letter seconded the recommendations by New College Council’s Academic Affairs Committee, which also expressed the need to continue a full roster of courses in this popular program in its own letter to the Principal.
Unfortunately, despite recommendations from New College Council’s own Academic Affairs Committee and a group of BPMH students, Principal Gazzale has cut the number of BPMH courses to be offered this summer and next year by half. We are devastated by this overt disregard of student needs and New College Council recommendations, and disappointed in the lack of collegial decision-making at the College.
